Q.
How are wall surface obstacles handled?
Each wall is unique with its own set of challenges. Obstacles such as light switches, plugs, cracks, damage, and windows, require a custom approach. We can either design around such obstacles or temporarily remove things like light fixtures and switch plates. In cases of wall damage, we can work to patch, paint, or repair the affected area for the best result.
Q.
What is required for upkeep of the print?
The UV ink cures on the surface and hardens with strong resiliency. You can use common cleaning products such as wet wipes, isopropyl alcohol, Simple Green, or soap and water on the surface of the print to remove any visible dirt or scuffs.
Q.
How durable are the prints?
Our prints are scratch-resistant, water-resistant, and UV-stable, ensuring durability for years to come.
Q.
How long does it take to dry?
Our printer moves quickly and efficiently sprays ink onto the surface with minimal waste. Our ink is cured with powerful UV lights the instant it hits the wall. It's almost completely dry as soon as it is printed.
Q.
How does vertical printing compare to vinyl?
Vinyl applications have some disadvantages - including difficulty adhering to textured surfaces, susceptibility to damage, and fading. Vinyl printing uses toxic chemical adhesives, creating unpleasant odors and waste. It can also be challenging to remove without damaging wall surfaces. Surface printing can be applied to most textured surfaces, is damage-resistant, and not affected by environmental conditions. It's cost-effective, eco-friendly, and easy to remove with a couple coats of paint.
Q.
How large of an image can be printed?
We can print up to 13 feet high with unlimited width.
Q.
What surfaces are possible?
We can print on flat, vertical surfaces of all kinds. You are not limited to smooth drywall for a crisp result. We can print on brick, cinderblock, stucco and other heavy textures. We can also print on non-wall surfaces, such as doors, tables, canvases, and more.
Q.
Can colored walls be printed on?
Yes. Our printer can print an opaque white undercoat layer to ensure vibrant colors on darker colored walls. This application does require more ink and processing time, so pricing is typically adjusted for darker walls.
Q.
How long does the printing process take?
Once the design is complete and the area is prepared, wall printing can take anywhere from 1 to 3 hours per 50 sq feet. It’s very fast and efficient, with most projects taking half a day or less.
